How to Use your Treadmill to Maintain Good Health

Staying healthy is almost impossible today, with all the great foods and t.v shows, who wants to exercise? Well, a treadmill is your answer, you can still watch your favorite shows while you are working to remain healthy.

Instructions
  1. Get on a program that works for you. The time of day that you exercise does not matter, what makes your routine continue to go smooth throughout the day. Stress is not something you need in your everyday life, try to keep it down when at all possible. A good exercise routine is 30 minutes a day, at least three times weekly. Try to work up to 5 or 6 times weekly, just to stay on a schedule.
  2. Pick a time that is your time, this needs to be a time when you can get through the program without interruption. Maybe the kids are at school, or watching television in the evening with Dad. Let the family know you need a clear head to stay focused on getting healthy. They will find something to keep themselves busy for 30 minutes.
  3. Start out slow and start with about 15 minutes, working up to 30 minutes by adding a few minutes weekly. You can set the treadmill to walk slow or fast, I suggest slow in the beginning, but you will want to work up to a good steady walk to get your heart rate up. It is healthy to have the heart rate up and breathing heavy for a period of 15 to 20 minutes during a workout. You may have a treadmill that gives you a program choice of different highs and lows and time lengths. Make it easy and fun for you.
  4. Go through a full 30 minute program after you have worked up to that amount of time. Drink plenty of water during and after the workout to stay hydrated. Do not over exurt yourself.
